MLB Reacts to Big Corbin Carroll News on Tuesday

Ever since entering Major League Baseball in 2022, Corbin Carroll has crafted a solid career, excelling with both bat and glove.

The 24-year-old was the 16th overall pick in the 2019 draft, following a standout senior season in high school where he hit .540. He committed to UCLA for college baseball but instead opted for the big leagues.

Carroll earned the 2023 National League Rookie of the Year award after a stellar season with Arizona, also making the All-Star team. While his 2024 season saw a slight sophomore slump, he appears to be back on track in his third year.

MLB shared significant news about Corbin Carroll on Tuesday, impacting the Arizona Diamondbacks and their fans: "Corbin Carroll is your April Lightning player in @MLBTheShow!"

The Lightning Player of the Month award recognizes the top player featured in MLB The Show's Dynasty Mode with a prestigious, high-rated player card awarded monthly.

The left-hander heads into action on Tuesday with the Arizona squad holding an 18-17 record.

Carroll boasts a .287 season average with 10 home runs and 27 RBIs. His 10th home run came in Monday's game against the New York Mets.

Carroll and teammate Eugenio Suarez trail Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies for the home run lead in the National League. Carroll ranks third in the NL in hits with 43, trailing only Pete Alonso and Brendan Donovan.

Following the Mets' departure on Wednesday, the Diamondbacks launch into a four-game series against the NL West Division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers.
